“When my dad, my son and I woke up, on the morning of our trip, I was expecting to have fun with Capt Sid and Pete. What we were NOT expecting… was to have the trip of a lifetime…..and that’s exactly what we got! The day started out a little slow while Capt Pete was catching the live bait. My dad turns to my 6yr old son and says, “Slow start…BIG finish!” Once we had enough bait, we headed off to our fishing spot. Capt Pete but the small bait out and the BIG bait…in hopes of catching a trophy fish! Within 10 min of fishing my son caught 2 Spanish Mackerel and he was having a blast. Then, BAM!!!! The big reel goes off and it sounded like the fishing reel in JAWS when they hooked him for the first time. It’s a sound you will never forget. We all scramble, like ants after it’s mound has been kicked over!

Pete then goes right into action taking full control of his boat… “Reel in all other lines….grab that reel and keep it tight!!” Next thing we all see was what was on the other end of my pole. A 7 foot, 150lb Tarpon LEAPING out of the water! It was shocking to see. It was exactly like what you see on any fishing show except WE were the people on the boat! Pete calls Capt Sid on the phone, “Tarpon on Tarpon on” I hear Pete telling Sid. Within minutes Sid is there, with the other charter, to watch and support his capt if needed. 30min later Pete taps the Tarpon to make the catch official. Pete reaches in the water…grabs the fish and Sid snaps the picture that will forever be on my wall and a memory that will last forever!
